Farage, the former leader of UKIP, believes he would win if he entered the June 2017 general election, which is being held three years earlier than usual after current Prime Minister Theresa May called for a snap election.

“I’ve got to weigh it up,” he said on BBC Radio 4 on Thursday.  “Where am I best in terms of having an impact on Brexit and perhaps warning the British public that perhaps it’s not going in the direction it should be?  Am I better off staying in Strasbourg, or am I better off trying to go to Westminster?”
