Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia will provide support and assistance to Muslim countries in the fight against terror. This is stated in the welcome telegram sent by the head of state to the participants of the meeting of the strategic vision group "Russia-Islamic World".

"I would like to emphasize that the Islamic world can fully count on Russia's support and cooperation and we are ready to step up cooperation with our partners in confronting the forces of terror, as well as in finding ways of peaceful settlement of regional crises," the telegram reads.

According to the president, the Russian Federation is ready to step up cooperation both in the sphere of combating terrorism and in the search for ways of peaceful settlement of regional crises.

"The situation is especially dramatic in Syria, where a bloody conflict has continued for several years already, and significant territories are under the rule of criminal groups that have corrected all norms of human morality and essentially declared war on the entire civilized community," Vladimir Putin stressed.
The activities of the Strategic Vision Group "Russia - Islamic World" will start in Grozny today.
