Do you think that the Pan-Orthodox Council should be held?
In 2016 (June 19-26) on Crete will be held a self-proclaimed the Pan -Orthodox Council. This event has caused a lot of misunderstandings and disagreements from the very beginning.
Two Churches: Antioch and Bulgarian, refused to participate in the Council, depriving it of its the pan-Orthodox status. Many Athos monks warn of the dangers of the Council and urged not to take part in it, remembering the eschatological prophecies. The ecumenical agenda of the event can cause concern.
In particular, the Georgian Orthodox Church and the Holy Mount Athos Kinot called for the change in the basis and form of the Council. The Russian Orthodox Church has offered to convene an urgent meeting to change some parts of the Council agenda, but the Church of Constantinople refused to change anything.
